The Art Gallery of Burlington Foundation
The Art Gallery of Burlington Foundation is a professional and ethical team comprised of a Board of Directors and staff who are passionately committed to raising funds in support of the Art Gallery of Burlington’s role as the creativity centre for Burlington.
Our vision is to increase, significantly, the raising of friends and funds for the Art Gallery of Burlington.
Why give to the AGB Foundation?
The Art Gallery of Burlington is a vital resource in our community and one of the reasons that Burlington was named the best mid-sized city in which to live in all of Canada by Money Sense Magazine. When the magazine set its criteria for putting cities on its list, it looked at income and housing, but also knew that “Quality of life isn’t only about practical concerns. The ability to take part in cultural activities adds richness to our lives…”
The AGB is proud to contribute to the quality of life in Burlington. We do this not just by being a cultural destination, but by fostering and nurturing the inspiration, imagination and creative thinking that leads to successful businesses and economic prosperity.
How does your support help?
Donations and sponsorships to the AGB Foundation allow us to provide the Art Gallery of Burlington with a source of revenue that goes directly to sustaining exhibition and education programs. Your contributions can support:
- Up to 20 exhibitions each year that are seen by more than 100,000 people
- The ongoing acquisition and maintenance of our permanent collection of contemporary, Canadian ceramics, which is of national significance
- Lower membership fees for seniors, allowing them to remain physically and mentally active, important aspects in healthy aging
- Education and Outreach programs that foster creativity and teach important life skills to more than 5,000 children in our community annually
Ways to Give
The AGB Foundation welcomes donations and sponsorships from individuals, companies, service clubs, and other organizations. If you choose to make a donation, you will receive a charitable tax receipt for the full amount of your gift, along with our sincere gratitude and the knowledge that you are helping your community. You may find that you wish to make a memorial or tribute gift to honour a special person or occasion, and a gift to the AGB Foundation will make that even more meaningful as it will benefit so many in our community. If, however, your company or organization would like to show its commitment to our community through sponsorship, we will provide you with benefits and recognition for your company and your employees. If art and creativity have always been important to you, you may wish to consider a donation to our endowment fund or a legacy gift as ways that will have a meaningful impact on the future of the AGB and its programs.
Your donation to the AGB Foundation will be used to support the ongoing exhibition and education programs that make the AGB the creativity centre for our community. We will automatically send a charitable receipt for tax purposes for all donations of $100 or more. While we truly appreciate a gift of any amount, those who generously contribute $500 or more will become members of the AGB’s Artists’ Society.

The Artists’ Society is a group of individuals who make generous, personal, financial contributions to the Art Gallery of Burlington. It was established to offer special thanks and recognition to annual fund leadership donors who make a minimum gift of $500 and share the AGB’s commitment to creativity.
Throughout the year, Artists’ Society members will be invited to events such as special lectures, exclusive tours of exhibitions with the curators or artists, preview receptions for major exhibitions, private talks and showings related to our Permanent Collection of Contemporary Canadian Ceramics, and our annual Holiday Reception. As well, Artists’ Society members will have their names listed on the Recognition Window at the BAC and in the Annual Report, and will have the opportunity to “Adopt” the AGB for a day, with special acknowledgement of your day in our lobbies.
Five giving levels have been created within the Artists’ Society, with the names linked to the formula that will ensure future economic prosperity and an envied quality of life in Burlington.
Memorial or Tribute Gifts
Making a Memorial or Tribute gift is a special way of honouring someone you care about, whether it is to express sorrow over the loss of a friend or loved one, or to celebrate a special occasion such as a birth or a 50th anniversary. When you make your gift, we will send a letter to the person for whom you provide contact information to let them know that you have made this generous and thoughtful gift. Education & Outreach
The AGB continues to offer its highly valued visual art studio courses that are directed towards artistic skill acquisition for both adults and children. But our new vision goes beyond this. We wish to inspire, support imagination, and promote creative expression in all facets of life. Your sponsorship dollars can be directed towards our traditional programs or to our new endeavours: the Creativity Puddle, which will present opportunities for children aged 4 – 14 to engage in their innate abilities to explore and create; the Creativity Community, where emerging artists aged 15 – 30 will embrace their talents and spirits and truly become our creative class; the Creativity Suite, where adults will find programs that focus on all aspects of creativity and how it affects our lives and health; and the Creativity Institute, where we will work with businesses to promote creative thinking and innovation that will lead towards a healthier bottom line.
The AGB’s exhibition program focuses on regional artists, our permanent collection, and works by members of our guilds. Exhibitions are presented in the Lee-Chin Family Gallery, the F.R. Perry Gallery, the Collection Corridor, our new Community Gallery and, from May to September, in our enclosed, outdoor courtyard. You can choose to give general support to the AGB, helping to keep access to our galleries free for everyone, sponsor a specific gallery or exhibition space for an entire year, provide support for a particular exhibition, or contribute to new acquisitions for our collection.
The AGB regularly organizes events, such as our annual Art Auction and Soup Bowl, that raise awareness as well as needed funds to support our annual operating budget. These events are directed towards different audiences and one of them will put your company’s name in front of the right people.
