Build-a-Bowl Workshop – Dec 11

Spend an evening learning how to form a bowl on the potter’s wheel! Absolutely no experience is required for this fun, hands-on night working with clay. The pieces you make will be fired and glazed after the workshop for you to use at home.
About the Instructor: Nicole Clouston is a practice-based researcher and teacher who recently completed her Ph.D. in Visual Art at York University in Toronto. In her practice, she asks: “What happens we acknowledge through an embodied experience, our connection to a world teeming with life both around and inside us?” Nicole has exhibited across Canada and international, most recently in Detroit, Michigan. She was the artist in residence at the Coalesce Bio Art Lab at the University of Buffalo and the artist in residence at Idea Projects Ontario Science Centre’s Studio Residencies at MOCA. These guidelines, as well as our anti-harrassment policy, will be reviewed by your instructor in the first class.
ART SUPPLIES: Adult students must supply their own materials based on course outline or purchased from the instructor if indicated.
ATTIRE: Please dress in clothing that reflects the nature of the activity. Your clothing may get messy from the materials and media utilized in your class. Also, closed-toe shoes are mandatory.
