ONLINE COURSE: Photography with Intention

This course is an opportunity for students to enhance their approach to photography through the consideration of thematic and conceptual frameworks. Students will develop a project starting from an idea and leading to a portfolio, publication or exhibition. The course consists of concept-based photographic assignments, supported by lectures, discussions, slide presentations and critiques.
About the Instructor: Özant Kamaci explores the purpose of photography as a medium and its connection to society. His early works investigate the role of photography as an interruption of anticipation. Özant left a corporate career of thirteen years to follow his passion for photography. He has an MA in Communication Design (specializing in Photography) from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London, UK and has exhibited his work around the world. Özant currently teaches photography and design courses at OCAD University.

Materials: Students are responsible for sourcing their own materials for online courses. Depending on their project directions, students may need a camera (digital/phone), or a collection of found photographs or imagery.
