Many ceramic artists have spoken about how the potter’s wheel has affected the expressive qualities of the medium by imposing a mechanical quality on their work. This exhibition will explore how the limitations of the round thrown form, has become an opportunity to explore the clay medium within a set of boundaries. Two of the most common thrown forms, bowl and vases, with skillful manipulation can become alive under the practiced hand of the master potter.
